A while ago, when my big sista was in town, we took the kiddos to Kiddie Kandies for some grandkid pictures for our mom. I took the opportunity to take Isaacs’ one year pictures.
Umm… they didn’t really turn out. He was terrified the WHOLE TIME!! Look at this sad face.
I was sweating by the end of it all trying to make everyone happy. I finally said “TAKE THE STUPID PICTURE!!” Someday I’ll get a really big kick out it.

If it helps, I got a big kick out of it the very day it occurred. Hee. I’m so glad you went back and ordered the pictures!
haha awwwww!
Just remember that one day he’ll get married and you can totally use that on the big screen at the dinner after the rehearsal. File it now!
It’s cute!
I totally know what you mean. My daughter has done this to me so many times now.
Here is the funny thing… I’ve walked away from so many photo shoots disappointed because we didn’t get the perfect smiling shot. But a few years down the road and I can’t believe I was ever disappointed… I LOVE those pictures.
I think in a year or two you will adore these pictures of your boy crying.
P.S. My parents have professional portraits of me crying and to this day they still love to torture me with them (I’m 36 for pete’s sake)!
That gave me a good laugh! ps–he looks so much like J. maybe it’s the face!
I have several pictures like this of my three children. I think it is a rule that kids act up when the parents are paying $ for the pictures.
Your kids are adorable.
How sad! But I had to laugh since I was at the mall yesterday doing the picture thing! I’m half crazy though. I usually go to Picture People and JCPenney. Why? Because I like the price of JCPenney…but trust Picture People. So I have a safeguard, plus I always get a free one from Picture People regardless if I order or not. They play dirty tricks though! Yesterday they brought out a framed trio of B&W pictures. It was so cute, but 100 bucks! Hello! Anyhow, those will be GREAT to look back on…and holy cow does the little guy look like his dad or what!
I’m a big believer in taking the kids and letting it reflect who they really are at the time. A few months ago we took all 6 of them in and 2yo Natalie was constipated….there was no getting that girl to smile for the camera, but I love the memory of the day. I kept em!
~K!
Awwwwww. That’s so sad and funny at the same time!! I can totally relate to the sweating and finally shouting to take the stupid picture already. Seriously! At least it’ll be a funny moment to scrapbook, right?!?!?
I love that my kids aren’t the only ones who won’t pose perfectly on photo day. So cute! I had to do that with our Christmas family photos, and Connor is screaming in them, oh well.
