I’m *trying* to learn to love my life more, so hopefully I wouldn’t get depressed. But I mightt ;-) I get quite annoyed with my hair often!

What have you done to it in the picture? Used shampoo & conditioner and stepped out of the shower and left it completely alone, or have you brushed/combed/dried/etc.?

I have been visiting http://www.longhaircommunity.com for a long time and have learned so much. The book Curly Girl is good too, but is mostly useful for wavies or curlies. Some things I do now are to sleep on a silk pillowcase, use only cheap conditioner to wash, wash infrequently, never brush (only fingercomb), use only pure aloe vera gel (like from the health food store) as a styling aid, use water mists and coconut oil on the ends, never blow dry or straight-iron, wear up to protect, etc. [Some of those things (like never brushing) are geared toward wavies/curlies.] My goal is waist-length hair, so I have to be really careful now!

I could go on and on about hair for days. I have a short history of my hair here – http://katieswords.blogspot.com/2006/11/last-day.html – and your sister is even mentioned! At one time I was trying to copy a hairstyle of hers, and I failed to remember that my hair is really curly and hers is not :-P

    You should appreciate having hair.

I just fell over laughing. Oh my gosh, you’re funny. How did I not know how funny you are?

ha… I wouldn’t be depressed, but its partly because my hair looks JUST like that. I would say you blow dried?? My hair does that if I “half blow dry/half air dry” so I totally use a Chi… My hair is pulled back 95% of the time, but when its not, I spend an hour flattening with my Chi… definitely worth the money! It might not be the “healthiest” thing, but the ceramic plates on it makes my hair SOOOOO much smoother, honestly. I LOVE it.

I think I DO have your hair. Not really straight. Not really curly. Just sort of bent in places. Yeah, it’s kind of depressing. I’ve found an awesome stylist though, if you’re willing to come to Provo. She was able to do this and I still love the haircut, even when I don’t bother to blowdry/gunkify/roundbrush it. Which is not often. It’s the Shep Salon and if you look at the a href=”http://utah.citysearch.com/profile/36557215/provo_ut/wolsey_shep_shep_salon.html”>reviews people come from California to have their hair done there. Crazy.

  6. You look like Claire Danes in that top photo. Which makes me so jealous I could spit.

  7. kerflop says:

Omygosh, she DOES! mom on a wire, if you could meet her in person (my sister, not claire) you’d want to put her in your pocket and take her home with you.

The fact that my sisters got all the cuteness is monumentally unfair.

LOW MAINTAINANCE !! That is all I want.

You guys are so funny. Does Claire Danes look like she is 7 years younger than she really is??

Jess, you are hot! Just except it.

Mark- in seventh grade I was infatuated with your red curly hair. Where did it all go?
