Oh goodness, I swear time flies faster in the summer. It’s almost been a week since I’ve written last. (ummm… I feel like I’m beginning a journal entry.)
My big sista came to town last week and that meant the days were packed full of wanting to do something fun but not ever getting the kids ready in time to do it. We did manage to go to Ikea (my 4th bleep’n time since they’ve opened). We left the kiddos behind with bro in law, Eric.
“Call us when you start to feel crazy” and out the door we flew forgetting that I don’t have a land line and we had his cell phone in the car.
4 hours later we wondered, “why hasn’t Eric called?? He must be doing fine.” he he!
When we returned he said “I will never do that again!” Oops.
We still managed to escape the children again when we came up with some excuse to run to the mall for some unmentionables and baby shower gifts. That half hour run turned into a couple hours. Oops again.
Yet again, Jess again gave me another excuse to leave the kiddos with Jer Friday night (he took the kids to the children’s museum) when she dragged me along to the Gateway to meet some of her bloggy friends for dinner (Heather, Loralee and Sara.) Some may think it’s crazy to go meet total strangers but ya know what… they aren’t strangers. They know each other just as well as anyone else. This internet thing is crazy. They might know more about each others lives more then their childhood friends that don’t call more than once a year. Hummm… They even knew who I was. Maybe that is creepy?
We had a good time and gabbed for most the night. I think I was the only one that was scarfing the delicious Thai food while everyone else giggled and hee hawed over who knows what. What can I say, I’m a listener! We wanted to do some shopping before heading home but Jer caught me in the act. I did manage to buy three shirts. Two that I love and one with regrets. Oh well, not all purchases can be winners.
Saturday I left the kiddos again to go to a baby shower for an old byu roomie. I love catchin up. Don’t you?
I also managed to do some rock climbing on thursday with my neighbor. I love teaching people how to to climb. Anyone interested? Share the addiction!
So I’ve passed the kids off a lot this last week and this week will probably be similar. I’m enjoying myself but wonder if I should feel bad. I feel bad for Jer but they’re his kids too. I don’t want to look like a slacker. All the reasons for taking off are valid. It’s not like I’m go’n down to the local bar or playing hookie.
So now it’s monday. I’ve managed to fold my laundry, find emma playmate for the afternoon and now I can cross off my blogging. Although I probably have a billion posts to read in google reader. Sigh. I guess I’ll just have to scan because I’ve been wanting to do a little project for Jer for fathers day. (I wont say what because sometimes he checks this).
By the way, if you don’t know, how old do you think I am?
