What do you guys think of these??
I totally need one of these but I’m super nervous, kind of embarrassed. I admit I used to laugh at these but now that I have a boy like Isaac I totally understand them now. I’m afraid of Isaac pulling, dragging, dangling on it and really making himself look like a furry four legged friend. Anyone have one? Love it, hate it, think they are ridiculous? Do the kids learn to be happy and stay close to you?

I had one with my oldest (now 16). It wasn’t quite that leash-like….it just went from his wrist to my wrist. Its one of those things that unless you have a kid like that, you are probably not going to understand. You are going to get some stares that are horrified, and you are going to have some people totally smile and wish they would have had one for their kid.
I admit they look a little cruel, but I’d do it again. I was always paranoid about losing him.
so YAY vote from me.

I agree with Leticia, “unless you have a kid like that, you are probably not going to understand.”
I have use one of those on two of my children (still keep it in the car for my three year old) and the two children I used it on (both boys). neither of them fought it (they both certainly liked it better than the stroller) and were happy they got to walk. It also kept them close so I knew they were not running off or being grabbed (Yes, that happened to us once).
I will keep mine handy until Bairno (14 months) is not small enough to use it. I love it!

Hi, I’m new. I found you through Kerflop who I found through Angella @ Dutch Blitz. About the “harness” … I used one with my oldest, just not with the creature on it. In my little town, the most ignorant comments came from teenagers and younger kids. “Look, a doggie!” I absolutely did not care. Every comment from a parent was something like “I’ve been there, Mama.”, always knowing and supportive. I figure, if people care so much about keeping their pets safe so they use a leash, why shouldn’t I care so much more about keeping my child safe. I have another one that I bought on vacation. It’s stretchy. Now that I have two boys, I hook it on to the stroller and my oldest just holds it. Gives him something to focus on and helps him to obey. And I’ve been keeping my eye open for one like you have picked out. Go for it. It’s pretty funny to watch them get used to it when they walk too far, too fast. Be careful he doesn’t land on his toosh!
And, nice to meet you.

We had that same one (still do but just don’t need it anymore). I loved it. It was awesome to have my mind able to relax a little more when we were out. One time, Dom wanted to DANCE at Gap, and I was trying to pick up a stack of sweaters, I had NO way of turning around to watch him and look through the sweaters (ha… this sounds so dumb written out) but just to be able to have a toe on him would have made me feel better. That’s the day I decided to get one. And you know what, he loved it just as much. I was constantly chasing him and he liked to have that “boundary” Good luck!

We use them mainly when they were Isaac’s age. When we would hike by the river or something dangerous. Ya we felt funny like we were walking our pooches but better than losing them!!
Once we used them at the Expo center and all it did was make them fall down!! But they can be handy. We only used ours a handful of times. At the expo center I had several mom’s ask where I got them. So at least the back pack animals are fun looking!
