Guess what…

I found my camera! Woo hoo. That means pictures for you.

You might have missed my announcement because I never really came out and said it. You really would have had to read in between the lines. It is getting to the point now where I can’t really deny it any more. I’m 14.5 weeks along. I’m excited for this new little addition and feel like it’s good timing for us to have another one.

If anyone is curious, here is a picture of my small bump. I get people saying that I look like I’m showing and others that say I’m not. I think it depends on what I’m wearing and how recent my last meal was. It’s hard for me to be proud of it. I feel pretty yucky walking around because my tummy is still in that awkward stage where no one could tell if I’m prego or not. I just feel like I’ve been eating to many burritos and can no longer fit in any of my pants. Yuck.

We were able to go camping this weekend at one of our favorite places in the world, Maple Canyon. We were excited to find lovely fall colors there and the weather was perfect. I couldn’t help but look around at the beauty and pause to take a deep breathe. It was so nice. Sleeping while camping can sometimes be a major challenge though. The ground can be hard, the weather cold but most of all, sleeping with children can be tiring. We haven’t been camping in a year because last time we went, Isaac wouldn’t stop doing somersaults at 3 in the morning. This time the kids both went to sleep easily. I was so excited to lay down and have a peaceful rest in the mountain air. It didn’t last long though because Emma started waking up having to go to the bathroom. After 4 times of this, I started feeling like she had some irritating UTI or something. It didn’t end until I had her sleep in between me and Jer. Somehow that worked like magic for her but backfired on me. I no longer had a comfortable bed and lacked some blanket covering. I ended up wedged between my two little darlings and tossed and turned all night. It reminds me of the children’s book Bear Snores On “…As the sun came up on a crisp clear dawn Bear couldn’t sleep but his friends snored on.”

Jer’s sister and brother in law came with us. It’s always nice to have sweet company around the camp fire. We rocked it up by making some kick’n dutch oven cooking. Peach cobbler at night and then a campfire breakfast thing a ma jig with hashbrowns, eggs and sausage in the morning. Yum!

After we packed up camp in the morning, we were able to hit a few routes on the rock. The canyon was actually crowded because of the ideal climbing weather. We had to fight for our spot on the crag. We ended up having a great time and the kids were even reasonably behaved (thanks to my massive bag of goodies to keep the occupied.) Here is a picture of Emma about 15 feet up and completely terrified. So far, our adventure-ness hasn’t rubbed off on her. She earned a slurpee by going just a little bit further than this.

Overall, a great success.

I totally know what you’re going through right now. It’s a fun, awkward stage, huh. :) You do look cute, though I know you don’t feel it. Happy pregnancy!

Cutest little bump I ever saw! It’s great to know such a dear friend is suffering exactly the same why I am - yeah I know it’s selfish. I feel for ya sister - the pants don’t fit, my butt grows every night, yet somehow I don’t look pregnant, just fat.
