Cold and Flu season

Yup, it has hit our house… not too terribly but Emma isn’t going to school this week. Her cough is deep and ugly sounding and it’s enough to scare any teacher away for miles. She’s been sent home twice now (because I thought her symptoms were mild) and so now I’m going to keep her as long as I can stand it. I never know where to draw the line. I hate to have her miss school but of course I don’t want to infect all the other kids. If I kept her home for every cough and runny nose, she’d miss half the year…

In order to make ourselves not to crazy I’m planning a super craft day. Emma is pumped. It’s like a dream come true. Our first activity has been leaf rubbings. Beautiful.

Maybe next we’ll make a story book with left over scrap paper. She is loving to practice her handwriting and sounding out words. She’s really loving 1st grade and catching on with reading. It’s super fun to watch her improve as a parent.

Leah and Isaac are starting to have rattling coughs as well. Drats. I think I’ll just put up a quarantine sign outside and we’ll stay in our pjs all day week long.

So sorry you all have been hit with the flu! I just opened the cutest hand written message from Emma. THanks!

Wow! Nothing like having kids at home that have the energy to be at school. Nice work on dealing with that.:)

Ugh! That really stinks. I hope Emma is feeling better soon and the others don’t get too bad.
