We showed up an hour late to church today. We were running about 5 minutes late anyway so when we walked in and sat down to a full meeting, I couldn’t figure out why my friend from across the room turned and laughed at me.
We still had no clue that it was daylight savings when everyone was singing the closing hymn. I just couldn’t figure out what hymn we were on. I thought that the chorister or organist had mixed up the numbers on the board. But how did everyone else know what to sing?
Then, during the closing prayer, which I still thought was the opening prayer, the person said something about the speakers and their wonderful messages. Jer turned to me and said “It’s daylight Saving!”
What?!
Afterward I laughed so hard I cried.
During classes everyone was talking about how they were so tired and missing that extra hour of sleep. Not me. I felt very refreshed. Ha.

That’s good Amanda. Thanks for the laugh! I love how you totally thought the chorister was all mixed up. Oh I’m chuckling. I had to speak at church today and this morning we were joking about how we should pretend like we forgot to change the clocks so I could get out of my talk…I’m still kind of thinking that would have been a good idea

… we had 1pm church. I had a headache so I took a nap and woke up at 12:30pm… I went downstairs and asked my husband if he had already adjusted the clocks… uh oh! It was really 1:30pm! We got to church just in time for primary to start and then my son came running down the hall chanting, “Class is cancelled!” The bishop had announced at the end of sacrament meeting that the rest of church was canceled because of a “problem with the septic system”. It was a crazy day!

That’s hysterical! Luckily a few people reminded me on Saturday.

Oh my! Funny! I should have reminded you! I was one of those people who were exhausted through the meetings! xo

Classic. I wish I forgot and took advantage of the extra hour at home.

We did that one time, but came an hour early instead of late. I’m still trying to catch up on my sleep.
