Just Managing

Good gracious, I’m glad it is bed time!

My wee little one has been sick this weekend and I expected her to be feeling better today. I’m sad to say that she whined and fussed the greater part of the day. My arms and my back ache from having the little tike attached to my right hip.

By 3:00 pm I was about ready to do myself harm and anyone else who came near me. Luckily I kept my cool until the daddy came home.

She didn’t want to sit. She didn’t want to play outside. She didn’t want to nap, eat, read books or swing in the hammock. She didn’t want to walk around the block or cuddle on the couch.

Frankly, I think she wanted to cry, fuss, scream, and throw her first real fit. She wanted to get mad, smack me in the face and rip pages out of my book.

She did however enjoy a handful of chocolate chips.
{imagine here a picture of my baby girl with brown messy smears across her face.}

How do you manage to get through these types of days?

I popped over to say thank you for the template, but as a mom of 3, I’ve been where you are with your youngest. As babies, when one of mine seemed to just be determined to have a fussy day, I’d put them down, give them things to take their fuss out on – such as soft toys, music makers (such as drums & shakers) old coupon fliers (rather than old magazines) and gross motor skill toys (like the one where they hammer pegs into a slotted board) – and make sure their lovey is nearby. Maybe even demonstrate what to do a bit, but generally leave them on their own while I do something else in the same room or the next room depending on their age.
Hope today is better!

I get through it by eating…graham crakers, chocolate, candy, real food, just about anything…and you know me a day like that means all the pepsi I want…(hence my shape…guess i’ve had a few of those days lately). Or you could call your sis-in-law and we could chat louder than Leah’s fussiness.

I love this little face. Kind of reminds me of your little face in days gone by! This will pass!

Great picture. That’s a classic! We’ve all been there. I still have days like those with Kailey… Not sure what we do. Just survive!

Hi… Sorry you had to deal with one of THOSE days. After I try everything sometimes I run them a bath and keep them in as long as possible. With my boys (5, 3 and 9 months), they love the water and it usually changes their mood after for a little while anyways.

You know what I hate on those days? Well, I guess I should say that I dislike (hate is a strong word LOL) the behavior of my other two children because they don’t hesitate to be jealous and act up in order to get my attention. :o )

I hope that you enjoyed a nice drink or cup of tea after bedtime!
