October desktop template

Hey, look what I made.

A desktop template that you can customize just the way you want it. I haven’t ever done a desktop background before because there are so many cute free ones around digi land for the taking. S0 why do the extra work? I must be feeling ambitious.

Here is what I did with mine.

Tip- To cover the white calendar with paper I did the usual Ctrl-G thing but because the number are actually on the white background, I had to change the blending mode to Multiply. You can also try Darken or Linear Burn and it lets the numbers show through.

*edit- I almost forgot, this desktop is 1366 x 768 px. I know that’s a weird size. It’s not the usual size you’ll find desktops come in. It’s the size of my screen and the others never fit just right… so listen… here is what you can do to insure a perfect fit.

1. Take a Print Screen shot of your screen. To do that find the button on your key board that says Print Screen or prt sc. It’s usually located around the top right of your keyboard. Hit that button and then go to your photoshop.

2. Hit Crtl-N to open up a new document. The dimensions of your screen should automatically appear. Click OK.

3. Open up my desktop template and select all the layers in the layers bin and drag them on to the new size. Use the move tool and transform any layers that need to be adjusted. Now you can start decorating for a perfect fit for your desktop.
