Todays Tibits

Hello March.

Today was warm and sunny. I tried to spend most of my time outdoors soaking up all the vitamin D that I could on my wee round face because the weather forecast declares that the blue skies wont last too long. The sun did a mighty fine job melting all the snow we had accumulated from last weeks storms. I had a lovely background noise of water running down the downspouts on the house. It made it feel so cheerful.

Every year I have the need to snap a photo of my tulips coming up. They are always such a surprise. Dear Tulips, do you really pop up so early? They simply seem to declare to me hope. Hope of new life, hope of beautiful things, hope of pleasant days.

Hope of keeping the neighbor boys outside.

While sitting on the front porch, I tried to keep my nose tucked in my book, Robinson Crusoe ( ever read it?) but Little Leah wouldn’t leave me alone. Fancy that, I’m her Mother and only willing play mate. Check out the little rag-a-muffin. Pigtails askew, belly hanging out, and on her 3rd pair of pants for the day. I’m sure she dropped that apple a number of times in the snow melted dirt. Nevertheless, we had a nice afternoon that passed pleasantly enough.

Last week, the aforementioned snow storms brought me great pleasure. I was able to hit the slopes a couple times in one week and that is reason to rejoice enough.

Once with my darling little sister… talk about a girls night out. We enjoyed the fresh powder immensely not to mention the hot coco and cheese fries.

We had to laugh at this ridiculous photo of our half frozen faces. Who looks good in goggles?

Not me.

We also went on Presidents Day with Jeremy, Emma and Isaac… and the rest of the Salt Lake Valley.

We met up with a friend and his kids (man in the yellow coat and blond girl with the blue hat)  so it turned out the be a great trip despite the lines at the lifts. Experiencing adventure with others is the best way to go.

That’s it for now. With the kids tuck into bed it’s time to find out how Robinson Crusoe gets off his lonely island.
