The first day of the new school year has come and gone. We bought new boxes of crayons, bleached last years white polos, and packed our lunches.
The house felt oddly quiet and clean today. Sigh. Leah and Sam kept me plenty busy though and soon the big kids were home and telling me all about their day. Well, Emma was. Isaac can’t remember much other than they watched some new Leap Frog movie. (I remember hearing from somewhere about the difference between boys and girls brains. (Mom, was that you?) Girls are all about feelings and boys… They don’t really “feel.” Instead, they move and touch and experience. It’s no wonder Isaac has nothing to tell me about school. Poor boy sat in a desk all day.)
Now the homework will start. The early bedtimes will come. And I’ll manage to get some things done around the house.
(That is if Sam will have a decent nap for me.)
Goodbye to afternoons at the pool, picnics up the canyon and lazy mornings in bed.

In fact, before I even started reading I saw the picture and thought those shirts looked waaaaay whiter than I EVER see around here. Cute kids too. Happy back to school.
