Template 50

Hi ya’ll. I managed to find a little bit of scrapbooking time today. Yea for me. I threw together this little page and am quite happy with the simplicity of it. If you like it you can download it here.

Here is what I did with it. I have to admit that I am a sucker for brownish neutrals no matter what I’m scrapping. I think it allows the photos to really pop with out any competition.

Enjoy.

Template 49

Here is another template for you. I had super duper fun making this one. It just came together so easily. Actually, I was inspired by a layout I saw on some blog one day… I sure wish I could remember where I saw it so I could give some credit but I just can’t find it. My version is, of course, quite a bit different so think it’s okay (plus, I added a second page. Yea for 2 pagers!) I love the way the little pictures worked out on the side.

If you like download here.

Template-49-preview

I almost love my template more than I love my actual pages. But I have to love that little stinker of a girl no matter what kind of trouble she gives me these days. Credits are at flickr.

Things have been a bit crazy around here but today I finally managed to create some sort of normalcy.

I have been working on this template/layout forever. I’d sit down to finish it and would hit a major mojo wall and have to get up and walk away. I just wasn’t loving it and I wasn’t sure where to take it.

I’m happy that I have finally finished it although I’m not sure what my feelings are about it. I’m still going to put it out there for you all because the amount of time I have spend on it is ridiculous and I might as well share it. I hope you guys like and can find a use for it.

I’ve decided that I’m a major fan of scallops as it seems to make a page complete. My last few templates have had scallops but of course if you are not a fan you can just delete them. Isn’t digital scrapping the best for that very reason.

You can find the download here.

Template 47

I’m on a major roll. I have another little template for all you digi scrappers. I have been doing so many 2 pagers lately that I really needed just a one page layout for my pics. Sometimes we all take just a few snapshots that we want to scrap and it seems silly to make a whole 2 page spread out of them. So here it is if you’d like to download it.

Template-47-preview

Now, if I must be totally honest, I can’t let my self have totally mismatched pages in my scrapbook. I’m crazy like that. So after I’ve designed my 1st page I’ll rotate the template 180 degrees for the 2nd page. I’ll then use the same kit but maybe mix it up a bit so it’ll look like different events but still have a nice flow to it. I know that a lot of you already do this but for those who don’t, here are my examples…

2010 Calendar Template

Hello everyone. I have finally gotten around to working on my calendar templates for 2010. Instead of starting from scratch and spending way too much time on these, I just fixed up last years calendar. The dates have been updated and I perfected a few things about the design and updated the colors so they look all new and shiny.

If you have procrastinated, like me, and need a new calendar for next year… download here.

2010-Calendar-Templates--Ma

My templates are 8×10s so they are easy to print anywhere.

When I get mine printed, I cut them in half and paste them on a 8.5×11 card stock that has been cut in half also. The photos fit perfectly that way with a nice little border so I don’t have to trim the card stock at all. Less work the better, right.

The pages go together kind of like a book. The title page ends up being the cover or front and back of the “book.” I then get it wire bound and a hole punched so that it will flip and hang nicely on a nail.

If you don’t want to be bothered with cutting and pasting then you should try Scrapping Simply. Chari is wonderful and she is offering free Wiro binding on calendars. Just number your pages and tell her to add the binding in the special instructions when you are checking out. I love her prices and her photo quality is beautiful too.

Here’s some pics of last years calendar just so you can get an idea how I put it together.

Another helpful hint is that the numbers and calendar grids are black. When you are designing your layout don’t forget that you can paint those things to match your calendar. It really helps to pull the design together. It’s also fun to add elements to the bottom part of the calendar too.

I’m pretty excited to start working on my own. I absolutely LOVED the way last years calendar turned out.

Time to get to work, Ladies.

Up for a Vote

I have almost completely driven myself batty! I have spent the greater part of my Saturday in front of this blasted machine and I’m just about to give up and hate myself forever…

I am making a Christmas card for our family.

Initially I thought, “Gee, this will be simple. I’ll just use my Christmas Trees card template that I made and that will be that.” But no… it can never be that simple for me. I figit and fuss and nudge my layouts until my back aches, my eyes are stinging and my wrists are twitching.

So… I’m putting my card up for a vote. I know that I’m exposing myself and showing you how sycotic I can be when it comes to my layouts but I also have this strange need for approval. So go ahead and laugh your head off at my ridiculousness.

Pick your favorite, pretty please. All credits go to Dani Mogstad. I used 2 kits of  hers- Holiday Spirit and Sleigh Bells Ring.

#1  My first attempt is pretty true to my template. I think I went a bit overboard with the ribbons on the little tree.

z christmas card

#2 The little tree is all gone. Bye bye little tree. But then I added some strange tag under an ornament to show the date. I couldn’t seem to figure out where that little tag should go.

z christmas card 2

#3 Then I began to wonder if the color scheme was bothering me so I used a different kit with more traditional colors. Still couldn’t figure out where to put the date.

z christmas card 3

#4 At this point I was started to get irritated with myself so I thought I’d try someone else’s design. But that didn’t seem quite right either. “Love Gift Peace”  What??

z christmas card 4

#5  May be I needed to get vertical but then I wasn’t happy with the papers so I changed them out a hundred times and found nothing that I loved. I started screaming and moaning at this point. Ahhhhhh!

z christmas card 5

#6 At this point Leah woke up and I knew I had completely wasted nap time. We had a little lunch break and then I finished off with this one. Still not sure. Did I go overboard on the stars and sequins?

z christmas card 6

Okay, that’s it for now. See how silly and obsessed I am.

Cast your vote via a comment and I will now go white wash myself in the snow. Thanks.

Christmas Trees Card

Taking a break from blogging is dangerous. It’s always hard for me to get started back up again. Luckily, today I have something fun to share with you.

Yesterday my mom came over and we made these (paper) card together for her card club that she is in. They were, of course, inspired by my wintery pillow.

12-09-09 003

We were loving the idea to make the pillow design into a card until we had to paste all the itty bitty tree trunks on all 75 of the itty bitty trees. We made 18 cards total and by the end we were cursing the whole idea and started making only 2 tree cards. Woo. If you plan on doing these with paper… I recommend only 2 or 3 trees per card. He He.

While trying to get a decent photo of the cards before my mom whisked them away for her lucky club members, Isaac jumped in my pictures… literally. This kid has been bouncing around my house like crazy. He can’t seem to stay OFF his head. I remember my little brother going through a stage like this so I guess it will end someday. For now, I’m enrolling the little tike into a gymnastics class to see if the bouncing, spinning, flipping and headstands will turn into anything productive.

So I thought I would make all of your lives easier and provide you will a digital version of our Christmas trees card. If you like it click here to download and don’t forget to leave me a comment.

These cards are 5×7s but remember you could transform them to whatever size you may need or drag them onto another canvas.

I, personally, am a fan of the one with a photo.

Happy Christmas card making.

Fall Tree

My sister posted about decorating for the holidays, specifically for Thanksgiving. This is something I barely do. I have a few things I put up on the walls and call it good.

In my sisters search for fall decor she found this darling pillow tutorial. My mom saw the post and being the sewing fanatic that she is, loved it. She called me to say that we needed to make it and immediately went out a bought two pillow forms.

We made it last Friday and every time I walk into my family room and see it sitting on my chair it makes me happy. I think it turned out so cute. Thanks Mom.

11-16-09 005

I’m loving this pillow so much that I thought I would make a little card from it. I created this to share will my faithful digi scrap’n blog readers. I want to say thank you for downloading my templates. I am so happy to share my creations with you. I want you guys to know that I always read every comment too. Your comments give me a good idea how many downloads I get and what kind of templates are most popular.

This 5×7 could be printed out and pasted on cardstock for a quick thank you card. It could also be re-sized. I may even be tempted to drag it onto a fall layout.

I used Dani Mogstad’s Falling Softly kit that I got from The Digi Files 8 to cover my template. I’m not sure if her kit it is up at the Sweet Shoppe yet but I love the soft fall colors. I created my own stitches though and now I just need someone nice to give my card to.

Fall tree

Now that I’m all ready for fall, the winter weather is knocking at my door step. We woke up to snow Saturday morning… Sheesh. I’m not quite ready for this.

Template 45

Hello everyone. My scrapbooking mojo disappeared for a few days but it’s back. I just needed to take a little break from the computer.

Here is a new template for you. I had a request for a layout with rectangle photos instead of squares. I flipped through some of my scrapbook pages the other day and realized that I guess I can go a little big square crazy… I do love squares but I’m happy with the way this layout turned out. It’s still pretty simple but hey… that’s how I like it.

Enjoy it for yourself here.
